The Brief
Permobil wanted a story that captured what their power wheelchairs mean to the young people who use them, without the wheelchair becoming the story. The goal was to build trust with an audience, not sell to it. This was the first episode of Innovating for Individuals, Permobil's end user storytelling series. It set the template for everything that followed.
Our Vision
Ollie is fifteen. He plays the drums, plays wheelchair soccer, and runs a 3D printing business he taught himself to build after one design term at school. He has interviewed a Prime Minister. He also lives with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and received his first Permobil power wheelchair at eleven. We put those facts in that order on purpose. The brief was to show what the chair means without letting it become the story, so we built the film around what Ollie makes and what he is proud of. The chair earns its place through what it enables: elevation to open a school locker, elevation to reach a snack from the fridge, the freedom to choose where to go without being pushed. Ollie and his independence is the story.

Client Words
I am speechless, this rarely happens. You have captured Ollie so perfectly, particularly the way he is able to live his best independent life with the use of his Permobil. We love it so much.
Patricia McPhail, Ollie's mother
The global team were happy with the outcome. Marcos and his team have done an outstanding job and it's an absolute privilege to work with them.
